Message from the Superintendent
It is that wonderful time of year again when we welcome our smiling students and amazing teachers back to the classroom. After a busy summer preparing, Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) is ready for a phenomenal 2019-2020 school year!
We are #CCPSProud to open the school year as an "A" District for the third consecutive year! We are proud of the achievements of individual students, families, teachers, school administrators, and the collective District performance. Earning an "A" is a significant accomplishment for our schools and the community.
Our new 2020-2022 Strategic Plan has officially kicked off, placing an emphasis on ensuring our students are “College, Career, and Life Ready.” The plan is designed to provide a college and career pathway for every student. We look forward to working collaboratively with all CCPS families and community stakeholders to help every student achieve #CCPSSuccess. Click here to view year one of the plan.
I look forward to working with our #CCPSFamily – students, parents, staff, volunteers, and community members - to ensure another successful school year!

Throughout Collier County, Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts of America) and Girl Scouts have robust programs, many taking place in schools after the school day is done.
Scouts BSA
Since 1929, the Southwest Florida Council for Boy Scouts of America has been teaching the core values of scouting to young people. Many families find that the values in Scouting, which include teaching self-worth, self-confidence, and responsibility, align to both school and life success. Cub Scouts are for families of K–5th grade girls and boys. Scouts BSA is for 6th–12th grade girls and boys. Venturing and Exploring are co-ed programs for girls and boys 14-20 years old. There are 45 troops, packs, crews, and posts with 1,200 youth and 550 registered adults in Collier County. It is amazing that 37 young people earned their Eagle Scout status last year in Collier. To learn more about Scouts BSA, visit their website or contact James Giles via email at JamesG@Scouting.org or call (239) 207-5366.

Girl Scouts
Did you know that there are almost 60 Girl Scout troops in Collier County? At Girl Scouts, girls prepare for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure in a safe, no-limits place designed for and by girls. How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience — a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects. At Girl Scouts, girls get to lead their own adventure and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest them most. For information on how to join, please visit their website or call Dawn Pike at 239-776-0508.
