April 2020 - Volume 9, Issue 9
Message from the Superintendent
I want to start by extending a big THANK YOU to our entire CCPS Family for your patience and flexibility as we navigate the unprecedented situation caused by COVID-19. Collier County Public Schools is rising to meet each new challenge and using this as an opportunity for growth.
Our teachers, school administrators, and District staff have worked tirelessly to prepare for the transition to online learning during our current school closure. On March 30th, students officially began participating in Teacher-Led Virtual Instruction and we are #CCPSProud of the level of engagement we are seeing!
As of March 30th, all CCPS campuses will remain closed to students through Friday, May 1st. However, learning will continue! Students should log in to Canvas daily to access coursework from teachers.
As we move forward with the school year, we will continue following our 2019-2020 Academic School Calendar. As a reminder, April 10th and April 13th will be "No School" days for both students and teachers. Of course, we always encourage continued learning, so we welcome students to visit our CCPS eLearns page anytime at www.collierschools.com/eLearns for supplemental activities.
We will continue to keep our CCPS Family informed throughout this ever-changing situation. Stay healthy, stay engaged, and let's work together to keep learning alive!

Collier County has so many phenomenal non-profit organizations. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, these organizations have come together and rallied to support our community. There are too many to mention; however, their commitment to the young people of Collier County is amazing. Our District extends an over-arching "THANK YOU!"
On April 5th, at 7:00pm on NBC-2, Champions For Learning and NBC-2 will broadcast this year's Golden Apple Awards. Unfortunately, we do not get to celebrate these outstanding teachers in person, but we are so incredibly #CCPSProud of them. These Golden Apple honorees represent all of the amazing work that our teachers do year-round! Thank you to Champions For Learning, Suncoast Credit Union, and all of the sponsors of the Golden Apple Awards.
We would also like to extend a thank you to the Community Foundation of Collier County for its support of CCPS eLearns online learning. A donation from the "Collier Comes Together" program, initiated by the Community Foundation, is helping CCPS provide Internet to students who do not have access at home. If you would like to support this initiative, click here to donate to the "Collier Comes Together" fund and note "CCPS" on the donation.
