May 2020 - Volume 9, Issue 10

Message from the Superintendent

It is incredible to think that we have been in our CCPS eLearns routines for about five weeks now and that the end of the 2019-2020 school year is only a month away!

We recently made an announcement regarding our District's plans for the Class of 2020 Commencement. Please click here for information regarding our Virtual/Video Commencement set for June 3rd and plans for a ceremony or event later this year, pending Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance.

We enjoyed seeing our CCPS Family participate in our first-ever districtwide Spirit Week! We hope you all had fun. Our social media channels were filled with pets helping students and teachers in eLearning, superheroes of all kinds, CCPS blue/green spirit, and tropical outfits. Today, May 1st, is National College Day. I look forward to seeing our CCPS Family show their support for the Class of 2020 by wearing their favorite college/post-secondary gear.

Speaking of supporting the Class of 2020, there is still time to purchase a CCPS Family yard sign! While all of our seniors are receiving customized Class of 2020 yard signs, we wanted to offer the opportunity for individuals in our community to show their support. Below is an image of the sign.

Click here to purchase a sign before the May 4th 11:59pm deadline.

A quick reminder that 4th quarter grades DO count, so let's all make sure our #CCPSFamily closes out the year strong!

REFERENDUM
TAX-NEUTRAL FLEXIBLE FUNDING

On April 21, 2020, the School Board of Collier County voted to submit a tax-neutral referendum to the Collier County Board of Commissioners for placement on the upcoming August 18, 2020, ballot. This referendum is cost-neutral, which means it will result in no tax increase. It will help maintain and improve our status as an academically high-performing district.
