April 2024

A Note from Dr. Leslie C. Ricciardelli

We are just under seven weeks away from the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Students are taking FAST and B.E.S.T. assessments and getting ready for end-of-course exams. I have no doubt our students will excel!

Thank you to Champions For Learning for recently hosting a wonderful Golden Apple Celebration of Teachers at the Artis-Naples. This year's event allowed our community to attend free-of-charge. It was great to see so many students, parents, staff, and others sharing in the recognition of our phenomenal educators.

A big congratulations to Immokalee High School’s All-Girls Robotics Team - Team 10101P. They have qualified to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas! Follow @collierschools on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as we follow their journey to the world stage. Good luck to the team!

Baseball season is here! Join us at our annual CCPS Family Night at the Ballpark on Friday, April 26. Tickets are only $6 and there will be a fireworks show after the game. Gates open at 6:00pm and the game starts at 7:05pm. Our very own Collier County nominee for Florida Teacher of the Year, Andrea Polanco from Oakridge Middle, will be throwing out the first pitch! Click here to purchase tickets.

We have two surveys currently open and your feedback is important.
  • Elementary "L" Naming Survey - As we move forward in the process of building the new elementary school in North Naples, currently referred to as Elementary L, we are seeking public input for a proposed school name. This survey will close at Noon on Friday, April 19. Click here to access the Elementary "L" Naming Survey.

  • CCPS ESE Survey - As part of Collier County Public Schools' ongoing efforts to better understand the needs and experiences of individuals with special needs and their families, the district is surveying parents of students with disabilities. This survey will close on May 3, 2024. Click here to access the ESE Survey.

A Note from the School Board

As your school board member from District 5, this month will end my first full school year as a school board member. It’s has been a great year attending every home football game along with so many events all across the district. The most recent event I attended was visiting iTECH in Immokalee for a tour of the school and to see how the school is teaming up with private companies that need our highly-trained students.

Starting the first Sunday in March and April at Immokalee High’s football field is the Albert Bentley Club. This booster club works with the local kids to help develop their athletic skills.

As we all know, it’s that time of year when we all look forward to our high schools’ commencement ceremonies. I, along with the Superintendent and my fellow Board Members, will be attending those commencement ceremonies in May and shaking the hands of all the graduating seniors.

As we end the school year, I wish all the students and staff a wonderful and safe summer.

Tim Moshier, Board Member (District 5)
