    Limit your focus so that you are not trying to cover too much information.
    Possible limiters are:
     
    Time period or date
     
    Location
     
    Characteristics of persons involved: age, gender, ethnicity, or viewpoint
    Example: Suppose you are interested in the environment.
    Limit your focus to Florida environment and come up with several new topics:
       
    Environmental issues of the Everglades
       
    Water supply
       
    Offshore drilling
     

    Endangered species
    Further narrow your focus:
    Think about environmental issues of the Everglades.
    Brainstorm and investigate environmental topics in the news.
     

     
       
    Overdevelopment of the Everglades
     
       
    Pythons and exotic animal species of the Everglades
       
    Melaleuca, Brazillian pepper, and other exotic plant species of the Everglades
       
    Water flow of the Everglades
     
       
    Agricultural pollution in the Everglades
     
    Choose the topic that interests you the most!
