2-6 Develop a Thesis Statement |
A thesis statement is usually a single sentence located at the end of the opening paragraph of the research paper. |
It clearly states your focus on the topic and what you intend to prove. |
The thesis statement is the answer to your research question. |
Begin your research with a “working” thesis statement or thesis question, and refine it as you continue to analyze information and reach your conclusions. |
For Example: |
"The State of Florida needs laws to protect the Everglades from polluters."
“Agricultural pollution in the State of Florida is a serious problem which affects the health and sustainability of the Everglades.”
"Legislative steps are necessary to curtail devastating agricultural pollution which threatens the Florida Everglades.”
