Dear Parent(s) or Guardian,

As Superintendent, one of my top priorities is the safety and well-being of every student in Collier County Public Schools. With the increasing use of electric bikes and scooters among our students, I want to make sure families are aware of new safety guidelines and legal requirements now in effect across our community.

These devices—though popular and convenient—travel at much higher speeds than traditional bicycles, increasing the risk of serious injury. In collaboration with Sheriff Kevin Rambosk and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, we are committed to educating our families and students about how to ride safely and responsibly.

Parents, click here for a detailed explanation of the various rideables, including where they can be ridden and new Collier County ordinances.

Please take a moment to talk with your child about what responsible riding looks like—especially as we head into the summer when students are more likely to be out and about in our community. Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Dr. Leslie C. Ricciardelli
