| January is School Board Appreciation Month! I want to take a moment to acknowledge our school board members for their thoughtful leadership and commitment to the success of our students and staff. | Our annual STEAM Expo is just around the corner! Join us on Saturday, January 25 at Aubrey Rogers High School to experience how we can "Build a Better Tomorrow!" Our keynote speakers will take us on a time machine to the past and will showcase what the future has in store for us from miles away using a hologram machine. | It’s now 2025, and we are starting the new year CCPS strong! Congratulations to Dr. Riccardelli who, after a short time on the job, has been named a Superintendent to Watch. I’d also like to congratulate a few others recently recognized for their contributions to CCPS: Melvin Maxwell, retired Director of Bands from Naples High School who is the 2025 Florida Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame recipient; Joe Mikulski of Golden Gate High School selected as Principal of the Year; and Dave Miller of East Naples Middle School as Assistant Principal of the Year. |

| We have a newly formed Citizen Audit Committee and I am the board representative. The committee consists of 5 members selected by the board. Each board member selected one member from a pool of applicants. We have recently interviewed and suggested a new internal audit firm to provide an audit for the years the state does not audit the district. The state audit occurs every 3 years. The Audit Committee makes recommendations to the board who makes any final decision. |

| 2025 ALL-STATE MUSICIANS |
| |
| Congratulations to the talented CCPS student selected for the 2025 All-State Ensembles. This is the highest achievement you can receive in Florida as a student musician! As members of these elite ensembles, the students took part in the Annual Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) Learning Conference and All-State Concerts. They joined fellow musicians from across Florida to create unforgettable music together under the direction of world-renowned conductors. |

| |
| A new tradition has started at Aubrey Rogers High called "pats to PATS." In a heart-warming, special moment on the football field, graduating seniors met with kindergarten students from Veterans Memorial Elementary to inspire them as they embark on their educational K-12 journey. |
