| With summer in full swing, exciting opportunities and preparations for the upcoming school year are already underway at CCPS
|

Do you have a child ready for Pre-K or Kindergarten or know someone with a new student entering Collier County Public Schools? As the only A-rated school district in Southwest Florida, CCPS represents The Proven Choice for academic excellence, student opportunities, and a supportive community that puts children first. Now is the time to enroll! To ensure new students are ready to start on day one, we encourage families to complete the online enrollment process by July 15. Everything you need from required documents to step-by-step instructions can be found at www.collierschools.com/enroll.

Are you or someone you know seeking employment? As we prepare for the new school year, positions are available throughout the district in many areas. In addition to qualifying for the Florida Retirement System, CCPS provides 100% insurance coverage for full-time employees. We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our various of departments at the district and a variety of positions in the schools. For example, CCPS Maintenance Hiring Fair will be held on July 9, 2026, from 9:00am -12:00pm at Lorenzo Walker Technical College. Click here for more information on job fairs or to view all positions available.

Additionally, our partners at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office are looking for School Crossing Guards for the upcoming school year. If you, or someone you know, are looking for a rewarding part-time job that makes a difference in our community, helping students travel to and from school safely, learn more at www.colliersheriff.org/ccsocareers.

If you are looking for learning activities to help your child get ready for next school year, explore our CCPS Classics reading lists, virtual field trips, and the New Worlds Reading Initiative on our Summer Learning website at www.collierschools.com/summerlearning.

We hope you enjoy these fun learning tools and continue to have a wonderful, restful summer break. Thank you for being a vital part of our CCPS family..

Another school year has closed out and I am filled with such gratitude – for the teachers and staff who went above and beyond every day; for our transportation, food service and district personnel who knew that their work also affected student achievement and well-being; for our families who put your trust in us and shared your remarkable children with us. This year has been one of growth, laughter, challenge, and discovery and none of it would have been possible without each one of you.

Summer is a gift – a chance to breathe, to wander, and to learn in ways that look nothing like a classroom. I encourage you to curl up with a good book and let the stories carry you to places near and far. You may also enjoy a visit to a park you’ve never explored, a neighborhood trail, a new city, or a new beach. The world is an extraordinary teacher when we take the time to look.

Perhaps most importantly, I hope you’ll spend some unhurried time with your families and friends, especially the elders in your life. Grandparents, neighbors, friends – they have stories that hold lessons no textbook can offer. Ask them about their childhood, their jobs, the world as they knew it. These conversations are among the most precious gifts a young person can receive.

Learning never really takes a vacation – it simply changes form. Wherever summer takes you, I hope it is filled with curiosity, connections, and joy. I look forward to hearing about summer adventures in August.

REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE WITH PROJECT EXPLORE

Career training, confidence, and community connection come together through Project Explore, a program offered at Lorenzo Walker Technical College for students with unique abilities. At Moorings Park, students gain real-world work experience while also operating B.E.A.N.S. Cafe, a student-run coffee cart serving residents and visitors. Watch how this innovative program is helping students build skills, independence, and bright futures.
