September is School Attendance Awareness Month, and I am proud to share that CCPS students continue to lead Florida when it comes to showing up ready to learn. Across multiple state attendance measures, our students rank among the very best in the state, consistently placing first or second in Florida. Those results reflect the Collier Commitment, where Every Student Belongs and students feel connected, supported, and excited to be at school each day. Thank you to our parents, staff, and students for making this success possible and for demonstrating the Power of We.

| As Florida’s educational landscape continues to shift, our district is taking proactive steps to stay ahead. We have made key financial and operational adjustments to align with changing student enrollment while keeping our top-tier "A" rating firmly intact. Balancing fiscal realities with long-term academic excellence takes careful planning, and I encourage you to read our recent district update on how enrollment trends are impacting public education in Collier County. | I hope you will join us for an upcoming evening of fun at our CCPS Family Soccer Night. FC Naples is excited to host CCPS Takeover, presented by Arthrex and supported by Collier County Public Schools, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Pre-game activities begin at 4:00pm, including live music, an inflatable obstacle course, interactive challenges, and more. Then beginning at 7:00pm, get ready for an exciting evening of professional soccer as FC Naples takes on the New York Cosmos, featuring an incredible halftime performance by our CCPS high school cheer squads. You can find all the details and purchase tickets on our CCPS Family Soccer Night event page. |

As your newly re-elected Collier County School Board Member for District 5, I would like to thank all of you for the honor of proudly serving our community for another four years.

Since my last News and Notes, it’s hard to believe that we held the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Ave Maria Elementary School at the beginning of August. This exciting opening included—believe it or not—the first-ever golf cart lane for student drop-off and pick-up!

I am looking forward to seeing a great turnout of parents, students, and staff at our upcoming sporting, musical, and arts/drama events.

Our goal is to foster a well-rounded student body participating in academic, vocational, athletic, and artistic programs. Well-rounded students build a strong foundation for future success, whether they enter the business world, the military, or academia.

This journey we take together is built on character and success. We are incredibly proud of the growth and knowledge we can all contribute to in our roles within Collier County Schools.

Respectfully,

NHS ALUMNA TO BE INDUCTED INTO FHSAA HALL OF FAME

CCPS is proud to congratulate Naples High School alumna Jean Bonnici Allender on her selection to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Hall of Fame Class of 2026. A standout softball player at Naples High School, Allender compiled an extraordinary 69-3 pitching record while leading the Golden Eagles to state championships in 1991, 1993, and 1994. Allender is among eight individuals statewide who will be inducted into the FHSAA Hall of Fame during a ceremony on September 20 in Gainesville.

CCPS OBSERVES PATRIOT DAY

Schools throughout the district commemorated the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honor the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the sacrifices made by members of the military in the days and years that followed. Barron Collier High School held its annual Patriot Day Ceremony, a tradition the school has maintained every year since 2002. The observance provides students with an opportunity to learn about this defining moment in American history while honoring the individuals whose courage, service, and sacrifice continue to inspire future generations.
